G'Kar tenta di tenere sotto controllo i Narn sulla stazione, mentre Delenn deve provare la sua fedeltà ad un inquisitore mandato dai Vorlon.
Int: Sheridan's Office. Morning briefing
(casual).
SHERIDAN: Anything new on the Narn situation?
IVANOVA: Not much. There's been a media
blackout ever since the Narn
surrendered.
FRANKLIN: We haven't had any more wounded
coming through, so either the
fighting's stopped or the Centauri
won't let them out.
SHERIDAN: Security?
GARIBALDI: Let's just say the Centauri threat
to kill 500 Narns for every dead
Centauri has had a sobering effect
on them. We're still getting the
occasional fight, but nowhere near
what it was a few days ago.
IVANOVA: Hundreds of Narns are asking for
sanctuary, and just as many want to
get home. We're negotiating with
the Centauri to allow them safe
passage, but they're reserving the
right to search any ship entering
Narn space.
FRANKLIN: Did you have a chance to talk to
(to GARIBALDI) Londo before he took off for
Centauri Prime?
GARIBALDI: Just briefly. Naturally he denied
having anything to do with the
attack on the Narn homeworld.
Ten minutes later he denied having
said that. He's denied everything
and then denied denying it. There's
only one thing he said he can't deny.
Sheridan looks to Ivanova. Sighs.
SHERIDAN: Your serve.
IVANOVA: All right, what didn't he deny?
GARIBALDI: I don't know. He couldn't tell me.
SHERIDAN: This place is turning into an
(tiredly) asylum... and I'm about five inches
from becoming the head loon.
FRANKLIN: I don't know... the way things are
going with G'kar, you just might
have some competition.
(da qui riprende la parte trasmessa in televisione)
Int. Auxillary Hallway.
Kosh moves down the hall a Lennier approaches,
more than a little nervous about this.
LENNIER: Ambassador Kosh...
Kosh stops, turns toward him.
KOSH: Yes.
LENNIER: Has she slept? Eaten?
KOSH: No.
LENNIER: I do not mean to show disrespect,
but I don't understand how this...
KOSH: No. You do not.
Kosh starts away when:
LENNIER: Ambassador, please: has anyone
ever passed this inquisition?
KOSH: No.
LENNIER: Then... how do you know he's doing
it right? He could be misusing his
authority. Have you talked to any
of them afterward?
KOSH: No.
LENNIER: Why not?
KOSH: No one has ever survived.
(continua con la scena in cui Lennier raggiunge Delenn e lei lo invita ad andarsene prima che Sebastian torni).
Tempo: 01:43
Delenn: Lennier said you were calling for me.
Kosh: Yes.
Delenn: Is there something wrong?
Kosh: You, perhaps. We have sent for you an inquisitor.
Delenn: An inquisitor? Why?
Kosh: To be sure, about you. You will submit to his authority.
Delenn: How will I know who it is?
Kosh: You will know, if you survive.
Tempo: 05:05
Delenn: Kosh must be certain that my choice was correct and made for the right reasons.
Lennier: If you do the right thing for the wrong reasons, the work becomes corrupted, impure, and ultimately self-destructive. Ambassador Kosh wishes confirmation that the right people are in the right place at the right time.
Tempo: 10:17
Sebastian: Nothing changes. Corruption, immorality, chaos.
Tempo: 10:41
Sebastian (a Sheridan): The truth? You are not ready for the truth. The facts? If that's the only way to get to my work. Yes, the Vorlons have been to Earth. The Vorlons have been everywhere. The Vorlons are.
Tempo: 10:58
Sebastian (a Sheridan): I was found by the Vorlons, taken, transported, and brought into their service. They told me everything about everything and the scales fell off my eyes and they were opened to a universe of majesty and terror that you could never imagine. They call upon me when I'm needed, and preserve me when I'm not. And they have called upon me now for this interrogation.
Tempo: 11:40
G'Kar (a Garibaldi): Mr. Garibaldi. I have been on this station long enough to know that you don't ask leading questions unless you already know the answers. So, why don't we just pretend I've lied about it, you've caught me in your web of ineluctable logic and cut to the point.
Tempo: 12:08
G'Kar: We are already, as you so quaintly put it, going straight to hell. We can not escape what's coming.
Garibaldi: Maybe not, but there's nothing wrong with taking a good ahead start.
Tempo: 13:05
G'Kar: I meant, why are you doing this?
Garibaldi: Because you didn't lie to me.
G'Kar: But you must have known that ahead of time.
Garibaldi: Like you said, I never start a conversation unless I know where it's going, but I always leave a little room for someone to disappoint me. Thanks for not doing it.
Tempo: 16:00
Sebastian (a Delenn): Unacceptable! What a sad thing you are. Unable to answer even such a simple question without falling back on references, and genealogies and what other people call you. Have you nothing of your own? Nothing to stand on that is not provided, defined, delineated, stamped, sanctioned, numbered, and approved by others? How can you be expected to fight for someone else when you haven't the fairest idea who you are?
Tempo: 19:52
Vir: I'm sorry. I wish... there was something that I could do. I tried telling them, but they wouldn't listen. They never listen... I'm sorry.
G'Kar: Dead... dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead... How do you apologize to them?
Vir: I can't.
G'Kar: Then I cannot forgive.
Tempo: 22:58
Delenn: If I believe I'm here now for a reason...
Sebastian: And if the world says otherwise?
Delenn: Then the world is wrong!
Sebastian: And Delenn is right? Perhaps the world is right and Delenn is wrong? Have you ever considered that? Have you?
Delenn: Yes. Sometimes.
Sebastian: Then there may yet be hope for you.
Tempo: 25:28
Sebastian (a Delenn): Do you know what your problem is, Delenn? You are a piece of the machine that thinks it is the whole of the machine. The flute that believes itself a symphony. You have malfunctioned. Admit it, and you'll feel better. Your only destiny is to be a nail that is hammered down.
Tempo: 31:43
Sebastian (a Sheridan): You are linked at the hip. Just as bad as she is. But you are not just a dreamer, you are a soldier. How far are you prepared to go? How much are you prepared to risk? How many people are you prepared to sacrifice for victory? Are you willing to die friendless, alone, deserted by everyone? Because that's what may be required of you in the war that is to come.
Tempo: 32:16
Sebastian (a Sheridan): What about the people you work with, the people you call friends? Are you willing to sacrifice them? What about your family? What about your God? What about truth? What about blood? What about right? What about wrong? What about your future? What about faith? What about sin? What about hell? What about death? What about life?
Tempo: 32:41
Delenn: Stop! Your quarrel is with me. You were sent to investigate me. Let him go. If you want to take someone, take me.
Sebastian: Well, well. A mutual admiration and sacrificial society.
Tempo: 34:00
Delenn (a Sebastian): This body is only a shell. You can not touch me. You can not harm me. I'm not afraid.
Tempo: 34:58
Sebastian (a Delenn e Sheridan): How do you know the chosen ones? No greater love hath a man than he lay down his life for his brother. Not for millions, not for glory, not for fame. For one person, in the dark... where no one will ever know... or see.
Tempo: 35:21
Sebastian (a Delenn e Sheridan): I have been in the service of the Vorlons for centuries, looking for you. Diogenes with his lamp, looking for an honest man willing to die for all the wrong reasons.
Tempo: 35:34
Sebastian (a Delenn e Sheridan): At last, my job is finished. Yours is just beginning. When the darkness comes, know this: you are the right people, in the right place at the right time.
Tempo: 39:05
Sebastian: The city was drowning in decay, chaos, immorality. A message needed to be sent, etched in blood, for all the world to see: a warning. In the pursuit of my... holy cause, I... did things, terrible things, unspeakable things. The world condemned me, but it didn't matter, because I believed I was right and the world was wrong. I believed I was the divine messenger. I believed I was...
Sheridan: Chosen?
Sebastian: I was... found by the Vorlons. They showed me the terrible depth of my mistake, my crimes, my... presumption. I have done 400 years of penance in their service. A job, for which they said I was ideally suited. Now, perhaps, they will finally let me die.
Sheridan: I think that might be wise.
Sebastian: Good luck to you in your holy cause, Captain Sheridan. May your choices have better results than mine. Remembered not as a messenger, remembered not as a reformer, not as a prophet, not as a hero, not even as Sebastian. Remembered only... as Jack.
