Una nuova droga che permette a chi ne fa uso di sperimentare per breve tempo capacità telepatiche si diffonde sulla stazione. G'Kar ne assume una dose e si reca da Londo. Bester torna su Babylon 5 per impedire il diffondersi della sostanza.

- Londo è stato nominato ambasciatore centauri su Babylon 5 dall'Imperatore Turhan poiché nessun altro candidato aveva accettato l'incarico.
- Anticamente, tra i Narn esistevano persone dotate di poteri telepatici, ma furono tutte sterminate, assieme alle famiglie. Ciò ha impedito alla specie di produrre altri telepati.
- Grazie al Dust, G'Kar riesce ad entrare tra i ricordi di Londo e a scoprire tutti i retroscena e le vere motivazioni che hanno portato alla recente guerra tra Centauri e Narn.
Domande senza risposta
- La presenza di Kosh nell'alloggio di Londo quando G'Kar penetra nei pensieri dell'ambasciatore centauri fa intendere che il Vorlon manipoli in qualche modo la visione di G'Kar. Per quale motivo il Vorlon si intromette? Qual è lo scopo del suo intervento? Perché Kosh tende sempre a manipolare gli altri, ma raramente agisce in prima persona?
- G'Kar è riuscito a sapere tutto quello che Londo sa sulle Ombre o Kosh glielo ha impedito?
- Quali sono i pericoli per l'intera specie umana che il Corpo Psi, secondo Bester, combatte segretamente?
- Cosa è accaduto ai telepati narn? Chi li ha sterminati? Le Ombre, i Centauri, o forse gli stessi Narn?
- Che fine ha fatto Talia Winters? Bester mentiva quando ha rivelato a Garibaldi che è stata dissezionata?

- Il Dust, una droga originariamente prodotta dal Corpo Psi per cercare di trasformare Umani normali in telepati stabili, si diffonde sulla stazione. Chi ne assume una dose riesce a sperimentare per breve tempo capacità telepatiche che permettono di entrare nella mente di altre persone.
- Il Dust appare molto presto nel corso della serie. Nella seconda versione del pilot The Gathering, Sinclair ferma infatti un contrabbandiere di Dust che cerca di fuggire dalla zona doganale.
- Il motivo per cui Londo è stato scelto come ambasciatore su Babylon 5 ricorda le ragioni per le quali Vir Cotto è sulla stazione. I genitori dell'assistente di Londo lo hanno voluto allontanare e hanno visto in Babylon 5 un ottimo vicolo cieco.
- I personaggi di Bester e Garibaldi iniziano a sviluppare una strana relazione reciproca, dimostrandosi capaci di utilizzare gli stessi metodi, ma confermando l'odio reciproco, anche quando costretti a lavorare assieme. Questa conflittualità tornerà in episodi successivi, anche in maniera drammatica.
- Il Narn appeso all'albero che si vede nella visione di G'Kar è il padre dell'ambasciatore narn (And Now For a Word). Non viene rivelato chi è il secondo narn della visione (forse G'Quan?), mentre il terzo secondo J. Michael Straczynski è G'Lan (The Fall of Night).
- In questo episodio abbondano i riferimenti alla Germania nazista: all'inizio della puntata, un commerciante apostrofa una guardia della Sicurezza chiedendogli se non fosse l'ora della riunione del Bund (i Bund, le "leghe" delle diverse categorie di persone che costituivano la società nazista, erano numerosissimi ai tempi di Hitler). Inoltre, il desiderio di Londo di creare una zona-cuscinetto ricorda la giustificazione addotta da Hitler per l'annessione della Sudetanland, una regione della ex Cecoslovacchia.
- Vir torna sulla stazione e fa vedere un suo rapporto per il Centaurum a Londo, il quale lo reputa un perfetto esempio di politica naif.
- I due pseudonimi dello spacciatore di Dust, Lindstrom e Morgenstern, sono i cognomi di due personaggi dalla serie The Mary Tyler Moore Show, la prima occupazione in assoluto di Bruce Boxleitner nel mondo di Hollywood. "Morgenstern" significa "stella del mattino" in tedesco. Assieme al nome "Abendstern" (stella della sera), erano i nomi di Venere prima che si capisse che in realtà era un pianeta. A quanto pare, Morgenstern è anche uno dei nomi di Lucifero.

- Traducendo la scritta in Minbari sulla veste di Vir utilizzando il font minbari "ufficiale" si ottiene la parola "Aloha".
- Il dono di Vir a Londo (un pacchetto di noccioline) è venuto spontaneo a Stephen Furst pensando che sugli aerei vengono spesso regalati appunto dei pacchetti di noccioline.
- Circa il rapporto tra Londo e G'Kar e quanto si vede in questo episodio, J. Michael Straczynski ha affermato: "These two characters are linked at the hips whether they want to be or not. Londo victimized G'Kar, now G'Kar had a chance to turn it around".
- Le scene all'interno della mente di G'Kar hanno attirato notevole attenzione da parte della produzione. Il regista dell'episodio, David J. Eagle, in proposito ha ricordato: "When we were inside G'Kar's mind, the idea was that in every shot, except one, we would be in limbo, in black, in nothingness, even if it meant him kind of floating in the air in one of those shots. And popping around, in front and behind Londo". Ha inoltre rivelato che per la realizzazione delle scene, è stata fortemente d'ispirazione la serie The Prisoner (Il prigioniero), ed in particolare l'episodio A, B and C.
- Riguardo alla "trasformazione" di G'Kar che si vede in questo episodio, Andreas Katsulas ha affermato di avere molto apprezzato la scena in cui il Narn consegna il Libro di G'Quan a Garibaldi poiché non gli servirà più, poiché ora è più vicino alla fonte del libro stesso.
- Sempre circa il cambiamento nel personaggio di G'Kar, J. Michael Straczynski ha detto: "It was the moment in G'Kar's transformation. His Ghandi moment, if you will. There is the notion that for one to achieve the transforming moment, it has to come through great pain. I really had to get him and Londo, and tear them all apart a little bit to get at the kernal of their personalities. That was definitely the case with G'Kar there".
- Dopo aver concluso la sua opera nella mente di G'Kar, Kosh si trova davanti ad un cartello con la scritta "Warning". Secondo J. Michael Straczynski, si è trattato di un effetto voluto.
- Bester torna sulla stazione, ma stavolta sotto una luce diversa. Il suo comportamento appare ragionevole e pacato durante tutto l'episodio, facendo apparire paranoici tutti gli altri. Si tratta, anche in questo caso, di un effetto voluto. J. Michael Straczynski ha infatti affermato che il tutto è stato necessario per far capire come il personaggio di Bester non si lasci raggirare facilmente. Straczynski era preoccupato dal fatto che Bester stesse diventando un po' troppo macchietta e un po' troppo poco il "cattivo" di turno, e per questo, in questo episodio, Bester appare come il "vincitore".
- Il personaggio di Bester ha una tale influenza sulla serie che, pur essendo presente in pochi episodi, il suo influsso è quasi avvertibile in ogni istante. Questo spiega in parte il motivo per il quale Walter Koenig abbia più volte affermato di preferire per certi versi Bester al personaggio che lo ha reso famoso, Pavel Chekov di Star Trek .
