B5 522 - Objects at Rest

Sheridan e Delenn lasciano la stazione. Lennier compie un grave errore. Londo ha un regalo per il figlio di Delenn e Sheridan.

• G'Kar ha designato Ta'Lon come suo successore nel ruolo di ambasciatore dei Narn su Babylon 5.
• Anche Franklin ha scelto il suo successore come capo del Medlab: la dottoressa Hobbes (Interludes and Examinations).
• Sheridan e Delenn hanno lasciato la stazione per prendere possesso del nuovo quartier generale della Alleanza Interstellare su Minbar.
• Durante il viaggio verso Minbar, a bordo della White Star su cui si trovano Sheridan e Delenn un condotto del refrigerante delle armi si rompe, e Sheridan rimane intrappolato dietro una porta di sicurezza, mentre un gas mortale satura l'aria. Lennier, dall'altra parte della porta, invece di aiutare Sheridan ad uscire, fugge. In seguito, il Minbari torna sui suoi passi, ma Sheridan si è già liberato, quindi, preso dalla vergogna, decide di fuggire a bordo di un caccia. In seguito contatta Delenn per dirle che rimarrà lontano finché non riuscirà a perdonarsi per quello che ha fatto e a trovare un modo per farsi perdonare dalla stessa Delenn.
• Londo consegna a Sheridan e Delenn un dono per il figlio che nascerà tra qualche mese: una antica urna che, secondo il Centauri, viene tramandata dall'imperatore all'erede al trono, ma che in realtà contiene un Keeper destinato al figlio della coppia.

• Dove è andato Lennier? Riuscirà mai a trovare un modo per redimersi?
• La descrizione dell'usanza centauri legata all'urna che Londo fa a Sheridan e Delenn è vera o è solo una storia messa in piedi dal Centauri per giustificare il "regalo"?
• Cosa succederà a David, il figlio di Sheridan e Delenn, quando aprirà l'urna? Qual è il piano dei Drakh a proposito?
• La richiesta di alcoolici fatta da Londo durante l'incontro con Sheridan e Delenn può essere legata al fatto che l'imperatore centauri abbia già scoperto che il suo Keeper può essere addormentato assumendo alcool in quantità (War Without End - Part 2). Se così fosse, cosa voleva dire Londo a Sheridan e Delenn? Aveva solo intenzione di avvertirli del Keeper presente nell'urna, o c'era dell'altro?
• Delenn intravvede per un attimo il Keeper sulla spalla di Londo. Come riesce a farlo?

• Garibaldi sceglie i componenti del nuovo consiglio di amministrazione delle Industrie Edgars: i dipendenti più critici verso i propri superiori tra quelli che fanno parte della forza lavoro della compagnia. Il loro compito principale sarà quello di fare notare a Garibaldi stesso quando opererà sopra le righe.
• Secondo l'opinione di Sheridan e Lochley, Tessa Halloran (il Numero Uno della resistenza marziana) sta facendo un ottimo lavoro come responsabile dei servizi segreti della Alleanza Interstellare.
• Con la partenza di Delenn e Franklin, l'unico dei personaggi principali presenti fin dalla prima stagione ad essere rimasto su Babylon 5 è Vir Cotto. Oltre a Vir, Zack Allan è l'unico tra i personaggi principali presenti nella sigla iniziale di almeno una delle prime quattro stagioni a rimanere sulla stazione.
• G'Kar sostiene che Ta'Lon sia pronto a svolgere il suo nuovo incarico tanto quanto lo era lui stesso nel momento in cui è arrivato per la prima volta su Babylon 5. La stessa cosa che il Narn pensa di Vir nei confronti di Londo (The Fall of Centauri Prime).
• A quanto pare, Delenn è in qualche modo capace di intravvedere i legami delle persone con le Ombre o le altre specie ad esse legate. Infatti, oltre ad intravvedere brevemente il Keeper di Londo, in Signs and Portents aveva avvertito il legame esistente tra Morden e le Ombre.
• Londo sostiene di credere che quando morirà, il Centaurum abolirà la carica di imperatore. Una affermazione contraria alla profezia di Lady Morella (Point of No Return), secondo la quale Vir diverrà imperatore quando Londo morirà per mano di G'Kar (War Without End - Part 2). Probabilmente, è stato il Keeper a forzare Londo a fare una tale affermazione, per convincere Sheridan ad accettare l'urna.
• Secondo quanto dice Londo, il primo Palazzo Reale centauri è stato costruito più di 2.000 anni prima degli eventi di questo episodio.
• Nella lingua minbari non esiste una parola corrispondente ad "addio".
• Nel suo messaggio a Ta'Lon, G'Kar dice che il suo popolo ha bisogno di "patience, direction, determination and strength", le stesse qualità che, secondo i Minbari, rendono pure le proprie azioni (secondo quanto sostiene Marcus in A Late Delivery from Avalon).
• Zack Allan è convinto che sarà presente quando Babylon 5 verrà smantellata.
• Il tradimento di Lennier era stato profetizzato da Morden in Day of the Dead.
• Nei titoli di testa, il nome del personaggio interpretato da Jennifer Balgobin viene erroneamente riportato come "Hobbes", invece di "Hobbs", come nelle puntate precedenti in cui appare.

And you have been my friend. In my absence, we will need someone to focus on helping our world rebuild and strengthening ties with the Alliance. In order to serve our people here and at home, one must be both priest and warrior in equal measure. In recent months, I have become more priest than warrior. Perhaps, now it is time for someone who is more warrior than priest. You may believe you are not ready, but you are as ready as I was when I first came to Babylon 5. Check the records, I think you'll be amused. When this message has finished, a copy will automatically be sent to Sheridan and the others. They will receive you as they would receive me.
